Hello, long weekend! You may have Monday off for Labor Day, but we’ll be doing plenty of work throughout the system over the next few days — all of which will help make your rides faster and more reliable. (Here’s why we schedule so many construction projects over these long weekends.)
It does, however, mean that service will be affected on several subway lines this weekend. We’ve got a handy map that will help you figure out what’s going on, but here’s the gist:
- trains aren't running between 135 St and 3 Av-149 St on Saturday and Sunday, and will be replaced by free shuttle buses.
- trains aren’t running at all on Saturday and Sunday. In Manhattan, take the train to Harlem-148 St; in Brooklyn, take the , which will run local from Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr to New Lots Av.
- trains aren’t running between E 180 St and 149 St-Grand Concourse on Saturday and Sunday.
- trains aren’t running between Crescent St and Jamaica Center, and will be replaced by shuttle buses.
- Downtown and trains are running local in Manhattan.
- Brooklyn-bound trains are running on the line from W 4 St to Jay St-MetroTech.
- trains are running on the line between Roosevelt Av and W 4 St in both directions.

- Coney Island-bound trains are running express from 18 Av to Kings Hwy on Saturday and Sunday.
For more detailed breakdowns, keep on scrolling — we’ve also got travel alternatives for stations that will be closed or skipped.
Another thing to note: Subways will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday, September 5. LIRR will run a weekend schedule on Monday, and Metro-North will run a Sunday schedule on Monday. We're also adding extra trains this weekend to accommodate holiday travelers. Get more details on weekend railroad service.
