The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that Franck D. Joseph II, Chief of Staff and Organizational Strategy for New York City Transit (NYCT) at the Department of Subways has been recognized by Progressive Railroading as one of this year’s 25 Under 40 Rising Stars. Franck’s contributions to public transit, through his role in the NYCT Department of Subways, will be celebrated later this summer with a special issue of Progressive Railroading and a virtual honoring ceremony in July.
As Chief of Staff for the NYCT Department of Subways, Franck has demonstrated his dedication to ensuring the New York City subway system continues to move millions of passengers every day. He has worked closely with NYCT Senior Vice President of Subways Demetrius Crichlow on subway improvement projects such as the Re-NEW-Vation program, where 75 subway stations have so far been repaired, enhanced and deep cleaned, as well as expanding security cameras at stations and in train cars.
“Franck has been an invaluable leader on the Department of Subways team since he first arrived,” said Crichlow. “His years of experience working at the highest levels of state and city government exemplifies his commitment to serving the public. During his time at New York City Transit, he has been instrumental in furthering complex projects that benefit each one of our customers. I whole-heartedly congratulate Franck on this well-deserved honor.”
Prior to joining the MTA, Franck served as a Chief of Staff at the New York City Council, a Deputy Commissioner for the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and Chief of Staff & Senior Advisor at the Office of the Queens Borough President.
