Customers Traveling to and from Coney Island-Stillwell Av on the D and N are Advised to Take Alternate Routes
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) New York City Transit (NYCT) tonight advised customers that due to damage to the signaling system near Coney Island-Stillwell Av, service on the and lines is suspended in parts of Brooklyn and delayed in other areas.
While a review of what occurred is in early stages, it appears that crews conducting essential maintenance to the signal system damaged cables, disrupting signal capability for the and lines serving Coney Island-Stillwell Av. Customers are advised to avoid and trains if possible. Signal maintenance teams are on-site working to restore service as quickly as possible. , , and trains are making all stops, but running with extensive delays in both directions.
"We take service disruptions very seriously and are always working to ensure these issues are addressed immediately," said NYCT President Richard Davey. "Crews will work throughout the night to repair damaged infrastructure and restore full service. Additionally, I have ordered a halt to all work in the impacted area until the root cause of tonight's issue is identified. I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing riders."
