No E Service between Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today advised customers traveling to and from Jamaica and the JFK AirTrain that trains will not run between Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer due to communications improvement work between 11:45 p.m. Friday, November 18 and 5:00 a.m. Monday, November 21. During this time, Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will cross-honor MetroCards for all stations west of Jamaica. Free shuttle bus service will run between Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer. Look for signs outside affected stations to find the nearest shuttle bus. trains will run on the line between Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike and Jamaica-179 St.
“As thousands of New Yorkers get an early start on their Thanksgiving travels this weekend, I am pleased that LIRR can provide a reliable option for travelers impacted by critical work on the train,” said Metro-North President and LIRR Interim President Catherine Rinaldi. “Getting to and from JFK on the LIRR is an easy way to beat the traffic and get to your final destination this holiday season.”
