Metro-North Announces Enhanced Service for Yankees-Red Sox Series

One of baseball’s most storied rivalries returns to the Bronx this weekend. The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees will play three night games at Yankee Stadium: 7:05 p.m. Friday, 7:35 p.m. Saturday and 7:10 p.m. Sunday. To accommodate the anticipated influx of fans to the ballpark, Metro-North Railroad will enhance its service options to the stadium before and after games.

“There is no series that brings out Yankee fans from all stretches of the region during the regular season quite like when the Red Sox visit,” said Metro-North Railroad President and Long Island Rail Road Interim President Catherine Rinaldi. “Metro-North has an enhanced service plan built to serve a large crowd before and after the game. Instead of sitting in traffic, you can save the time and stress of driving and take the train to catch one of baseball’s most storied rivalries in time for first pitch.”

After every game, there will be Yankee Clipper trains to take fans directly home on all three lines. Several Hudson Line trains will make extra stops at the stadium to board fans, and shuttle trains will operate from the stadium to Harlem/125th St and Grand Central Terminal. Fans may transfer to regularly scheduled Harlem and New Haven Line trains at Harlem/125th St station and to LIRR trains at Grand Central.

All trains to and from the games are shown on the MTA TrainTime app and on the MTA Metro-North website schedules page at MTA Train and Bus Schedules.

On the Hudson Line, eight regularly scheduled southbound trains make an extra stop at Yankees/E 153rd St before the game.

Shuttle trains will operate between Grand Central Terminal, Harlem/125th Street and Yankees/ E 153rd St stations, providing connections from Harlem and New Haven Line trains at Harlem/125th St station to the stadium and from LIRR trains at Grand Central.

On the New Haven Line two Yankee Clipper trains will operate directly from New Haven to Yankee Stadium. The first train is scheduled to depart New Haven at 4:07 p.m. and arrive at the stadium at 6:08 p.m. The second Yankee Clipper is scheduled to depart New Haven at 4:47 p.m. and arrive at the stadium at 6:45 p.m. Both trains will make station stops at West Haven, Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Westport, South Norwalk, Darien, Noroton Heights, Stamford, Greenwich, Rye, Larchmont and New Rochelle, before running express to the stadium.
