Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) leaders today participated in the Authority’s second multicultural and community media roundtable event this year. MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber delivered a presentation on the agency’s core priorities ahead of an open question and answer session on topics ranging from the MTA’s financial future and addressing the fiscal cliff, safety, congestion pricing, and major capital projects including the opening of Grand Central Madison and LIRR Third Track.
“The New Yorkers reached by community and multicultural media are at the core of the MTA’s mission,” said MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber. “Every day, the MTA moves over five million New Yorkers from every corner of the city, speaking dozens of languages. By speaking to these diverse publications, we are able to directly address the questions customers have, while sharing the MTA’s priorities with the daily transit riders who keep New York City going.”
Outlets in attendance included: El Diario, The Amsterdam News, Queens Latino, Rampa Media, Straus News, The Red Hook Star Revue, Dunya International, India News Times, Caribbean American Weekly, Sing Tao, Thikana, and the Weekly Bangalee.
