Monthly UniTicket holders on Metro-North connecting services can now take advantage of the 511NY Guaranteed Ride Program. This program allows you to take up to $600 a year in local cab, rideshare (Uber or Lyft), carpool, or transit trips when your regularly scheduled connecting service isn't available.
This partnership replaces the existing Metro-North Guaranteed Ride Home Program, which is being discontinued as of September 30, 2024. The 511NY Guaranteed Ride Home Program is more flexible than the existing program. You no longer need to take a specific train or use a specific local taxi company for your connecting trip. Once you've signed up for the program, you can book a rideshare trip through 511NY Rideshare at no cost or be reimbursed for other modes of transportation when your regular connecting service isn't running.
To be eligible, you must hold the current month's UniTicket holder for Metro-North and one of the following services:
- Hudson Link bus via Tarrytown or White Plains stations
- Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry
- Newburgh-Beacon Ferry
- Dutchess County Public Transit RailLink bus via New Hamburg or Poughkeepsie stations
- Ridgefield-Katonah Shuttle
- Mahopac-Croton Falls Shuttle
- Danbury-Brewster Shuttle
- New Fairfield-Southeast Shuttle
- Hudson Rail Link
